CHRISTMAS EVERYDAY
To all out there, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Though the actual holiday was yesterday December 25th, the spirit of Christmas lives on everyday in the hearts of those who love the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful for all that God has given me through Christ, greatest of all a relationship with HIM. With HIS love, I can be the wife, mother, person that HE has called me to be. Today and everyday, remember the gift God gave us all through the birth of that precious baby, wrapped in swaddling cloth and laid in a manger. HE is the GOOD NEWS that brings JOY to all people! (Luke 2:11)

NO FEAR
In the midst of a busy week, I had a few moments to do a little reading. I came upon a story of a woman who'd found out she was unexpectedly pregnant. Her fears of the unknown- if now was the right time, if the child would be healthy due to her age and medical history, how the family would feel - quickly began to overshadow her excitement of the blessing of a new life.
Having been pregnant a few times and having had my own unknowns to deal with, I could understand where she was coming from. However, in my own situations, I found that praying to the Lord and asking HIM to walk with me through whatever tests and exams I had to experience - not knowing beforehand what the results would show- was the only way to get through. I was not to try to deal with things on my own but I had to stand on my faith and cast out any thoughts that led to anxiety over the unknown.
Pslam 34:4(NLT) says, " I prayed to the Lord and HE answered me, HE delivered me from all my fears."
These words of David let me know that God is there for those who love HIM. He'll take away that fear of the unknown when we give our situation to HIM and grant us peace, knowing that in all we face HE is with us.
God's Word lets us know that he'll keep you in perfect peace, if you keep your mind on HIM. While our flesh wants us to think on the negative, God's spirit on the inside reminds us to think on the victory we have through HIS love.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
It's been 10 days since I last published a blog entry. I've been kind of busy with my family :) I hope that my previous posts left my readers with a few things to think on and be encouraged in a positive light.
Today is a very special day, for it was 21 years ago this day that I became a big sister. I spent a long time as an only child so I was really excited to have a new little sister. Sure we both have our stories from our childhood, some annoying, some funny. But greatest of all they are filled with love.
Psalm 133:1(NLT) says, "How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!"
I praise God that my siblings and I get along and care for each other. Sure we may not always agree on things, but we love each other and when we talk or we're together, the love is evident.
As a mother, I am raising my children to have that same love and respect for each other. I've been witness to broken sibling relationships and they are not at all pleasant. Unity is definitely the more peaceful path and with Christ at the center of our relationships, love certainly wins over all.
My hope today is that if you have a sibling or someone who's just like a sibling to you, that you appreciate them and love them. Be thankful for the blessing of their presence in your life. If your relationship happens to be one that is broken, give it to the Lord. If you don't have a relationship with HIM, begin there and all others will fall into their proper place.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised HIM from the dead, you shall be saved.

It's Cold Outside
Today is the first day that it has been just bitterly cold. Snowflakes are falling, a few patches of ice are on the sidewalks and the wind is blowing briskly, making for a day that certainly feels like winter. I love each season, as each has its own beauty to behold. I'd rather not complain about the changes and how they inconvenience me. I'd rather appreciate the elements for what they are and enjoy the day that God has blessed me to see.
Isaiah 55:10 (NLT) says "The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth, They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry." When we view today's weather from the perspective of being a part of God's daily provision for us, then surely we can deal with adding an extra layer of clothing and a few cold weather accessories.
Each morning as a family we say our "THANK YOU JESUS". Often on cold days, we thank HIM for a warm home, car to ride in and our coats, gloves, etc., things that can sometimes be taken for granted. As we feel the bitter cold of today, let us not be bitter in spirit. Give a smile or hug that warms the heart. Give a meal to warm the stomach. Give a coat or clothing to warm someone without. Give the love of CHRIST JESUS to warm and save the soul.
