As I pulled into my driveway this morning, I tuned to the Jazz station on my satellite radio. The song playing was awesome, a melodic tune that simply allowed me to think on the goodness of God. I looked around my yard with great appreciation for HIS creation and a thankful heart for all of HIS blessings.
At church yesterday, the sermon focused on Matthew 6:25-34, in which Jesus reminds us not to worry about everyday life. If the birds are fed daily and the lilies of the field are clothed in beauty, then certainly God will care for His children.
As a wife and mother of 5 children (six if you include our new puppy), there is always a list of things to do, a list of needs for the family and many things to be taken care of daily. I am so thankful to God, that with a simple glimpse out of my window, I can be reminded of how He cares for me and I am never alone, even when my task list is long and tiring.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) says, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you." It is so vitally important to start the day with time spent with the Lord. Through prayer and devotional time spent in HIS word, things are put into proper perspective. When we seek HIM first above all else, HE will make provision for all of our needs, just as he does for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field.
